The commission of Jesus for His church to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) requires unity–Unity among church staff, volunteers, members, and other Great Commission churches. Unity was so vital that Jesus prayed in John 17:11 that His disciples would be one as He is one with the Father. Then, in John 17:21-23 Jesus prayed for future believers–HIS CHURCH–that they too may be one as [He is] one with the Father.
