Zion’s Cause Baptist Church Associate Pastor of Families  (AKA Family Pastor) 

The Family Pastor of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church is to assist in leading the church to function as  a New Testament church, with the specific responsibility to lead the church’s Youth and Family  Ministries. He is directly supervised by the Senior Pastor. This is a full-time position that will  report directly to the Senior Pastor. 

Family Ministry (60%) 

  • Develop, execute, and oversee the Family Ministry of ZCBC by: 
  • Helping involve attending families not attending a small group.  
  • Helping reach parents who do not attend ZCBC, but their teens do. 
  • Develop, execute, and oversee the Youth Ministry of ZCBC (grades 6–12), including : – Wednesday night or Sunday night teaching and worship time for youth. 
  • Establish a small group for non-attending parents of attending students. 
  • Teaching these parents the same student lesson in small groups. 
  • Engage students outside of church by finding ways to spend time with them, such as attending extracurricular activities (band concerts, sports events etc.) whenever possible.
  • Maintain communication with parents . 
  • Prays regularly for students and families of ZCBC. 
  • Coordinates the overall Family Ministry of the Church by working with other student  volunteers to develop and disciple the whole family. 

General Pastoral (20%) 

  • Assist the Senior Pastor as needed with churchwide functions and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Fill the pulpit as needed and scheduled. 
  • Provide leadership in the absence of the Senior Pastor. 
  • Be a proper steward leader by: 
  • Steward family well by placing them as first ministry priority (1 Tim 3:1-8). 
  • Steward finances well with a consistent practice of biblical tithing (Mal 3:10, 1 Cor 16:2).
  • Steward time well, understanding that compensation is based on a min. of forty hours wk. 

Extra Abilities (20%) 

  • All pastors have unique talents and gifts that can edify the body.  
  • These things make us unique and special.  
  • These talents given by God should be used in return. 

Qualifications  

  • Give a testimony of their conversion and ministry calling. 
  • Be married and have a ministry partner with a willingness to support her husband’s ministry.
  • Be a mature believer who meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry.
  • Ministry Preparation: Education is important. Candidates are expected to have pursued or in  pursuit of a biblical education. 
  • Student ministry experience or apprenticeship is preferred. 
  • Agreement with The Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
