Revitalization Through Partnerships

A Call for Every Church to Get in the Game

Most of us are familiar with the concept of “every member ministry” in a local church. Healthy churches thrive when every member is engaged in prayer, service, and mission—not sitting on the sidelines. In the same way, we want to see every church in the Nashville Baptist Association actively participating in the life and health of other churches. No congregation is called to stand alone.

Why Partnerships Matter

The goal is not just a few strong churches scattered across our city, but a network of healthy churches—growing, plateaued, and even declining—working together. Renewal is not an isolated project; it’s a family commitment. When one church struggles, the whole body feels it. When one church flourishes, we all benefit.

Wouldn’t it be great if every church in the association was meaningfully linked to another church—regularly praying for them, encouraging their leaders, and offering tangible help? That kind of gospel partnership not only brings fresh life to plateaued and declining churches, but also deepens maturity, humility, and mission focus in stronger churches.

A Quick-Start Guide to Partnership

Partnership doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some practical ways every church, large or small, can step into this calling:

  1. Pray by Name. Include another association church in your Sunday morning prayer each week. Pray for their pastor, their members, and their witness in their community.
  2. Build a Friendship. Encourage your pastor, staff, or deacons to reach out to another church’s leadership. A simple lunch, phone call, or text of encouragement can go a long way.
  3. Share the Pulpit. Offer to send a trusted preacher for pulpit supply or invite their pastor to preach at your church. Both churches benefit from hearing God’s Word through different voices.
  4. Resource Generously. Consider sharing curriculum, VBS supplies, musicians, or even volunteers for a special event. Sometimes a plateaued or declining church just needs a boost to get momentum.
  5. Adopt a Church. Go deeper with one church in particular. Commit to walking alongside them for a season of intentional renewal—through prayer, financial partnership, leadership coaching, or even sending a small team to serve regularly.

The Vision

Imagine the testimony to our city if every church in the Nashville Baptist Association was actively, prayerfully, and relationally engaged with another church. The gospel would advance. Leaders would be strengthened. Congregations would be refreshed. And our unity in Christ would shine more brightly.

Partnership is not optional—it’s the way the church has always moved forward in mission. Paul planted churches, but he also returned to strengthen them, and he called on other churches to share resources and encouragement. Renewal is never a solo effort. We are better together.

So here’s the invitation: get in the game. Find one church. Pray for them. Encourage them. Walk with them. And let’s watch God bring new life—together.
