JoAnn Howard on God at Work
After coming out of retirement to serve as an assistant at the Nashville Baptist Association, I sometimes wonder if I should check my sanity! But truthfully, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and excitement for what God is doing here.
In just a few short months, I’ve witnessed changed lives, renewed ministries, and strengthened relationships. I’ve been amazed at how much has been accomplished in the kingdom’s work already.
Significant goals have been achieved across all of our missional areas:
- Church Planting — led by Gary Morgan
- Church Renewal — led by Nik Lingle
- Engaging — led by Brett Boesch
- Encouraging — led by Bob Bickford
All of this is possible because of the dedicated NBA staff and their missional hearts. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside them. I have truly loved working here—and I hope to stay connected. Honestly, I’m not sure they could get rid of me even if they tried!
The Nashville Baptist Association is more than an office or a team. It’s a network of churches working together to advance the gospel throughout Middle Tennessee. Whether that means planting new congregations, renewing existing ones, or walking alongside churches to help them reach their communities—God is in control.
We are simply His hands and feet.
