Missional Engagement

Make Jesus known and make the community a better place!

Every church has a specific address and that address is no accident. God places churches as gospel outposts in neighborhoods, urban, suburban and rural for a specific purpose – to make Jesus known and make the community a better place.

As seasons and contexts change, so should the ways a church engages the community which surrounds them. The gospel message never changes, nor does the need to hear it. There are no neighborhoods where people do not need to hear the good news of gospel.

The NBA assists churches seeking to engage their communities in the following ways:

  1. Community Insight Report – churches may request custom reports with the most recent area demographics, population and financial trends and spiritual receptivity.
  2. Community Engagement Training – we offer workgroup and strategy sessions designed to help you discern and define your unique missional strategy and missionary pathway
  3. Church Facility Audit – church real estate is often some of the most underutilized space in the entire community. We can help your church consider ways to leverage your facility space to welcome, serve and bless your community.
  4. Community Engagement Resource Trailer – churches may rent, for low cost, a block party trailer with a bounce house, sound system, tables and chairs and other items for use at community events.

Ethnic Parthnership Playbook

Imagine your church actively partnering with a neighboring ethnic congregation, not just sharing space, but exchanging pulpits, celebrating diverse expressions of worship, and even uniting in local evangelistic efforts. This framework offers a tangible pathway through four distinct levels – from providing essential resources to becoming full missional partners. Discover practical steps your church can take to move beyond superficial arrangements and cultivate truly enriching relationships that will strengthen your ministry, broaden your understanding of God’s global family, and more effectively advance the Gospel in our diverse Nashville community.

Diaspora Missions Collective

Helping churches to show and share the love of Christ among Diaspora people!

Nashville is home to more than 90 different people groups from all over the world. Over 40 of those people groups are classified by missiologists as “Unreached People Groups.” The churches and associations here in the greater Nashville area have banded together as a Collective to collaborate, share, and pray for the nations here in the Music City.

We would love to connect with you and introduce you to our diverse community of pastors, ministry leaders, and missional practitioners. We would love to have be part of our Collective. Help us confront the lostness here in Middle Tennessee and see gospel saturation happen in our city.
