Dear Pastors,
You’re invited to join a monthly Biblical Counseling Lunch & Learn hosted at Westwood Baptist Church and led by Sarah Banks, a trusted biblical counselor in our area with training through CCEF (Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation).
Sarah has been praying that God would bring more Christ-centered counseling to Nashville—and the Lord is answering that prayer through gatherings like this. Each month, pastors, counselors, and ministry leaders meet for a laid-back, gospel-centered conversation about wise and compassionate care in the local church.
This month’s topic is:
“Asking Good Questions in Counseling Conversations.”
We’ll discuss how to ask questions that draw out the heart without overwhelming the counselee, guided by a short Journal of Biblical Counseling article by Dr. Ed Welch, “Questions about Questions.”
Discussion prompts include:
- What are your go-to questions in counseling, and how effective are they?
- What cautions might we take from Welch about being too question-heavy?
- How can we help conversations move forward while avoiding common pitfalls?
Please bring your own lunch and join us for a meaningful time of fellowship, prayer, and learning together.
If you’d like to attend, simply reply to this email to let us know you’re coming.
In Christ,
Nik Lingle
Renewal Strategist, Nashville Baptist Association
