Our Mission
The Mission of the Nashville Baptist Association Disaster Relief Ministry is to equip member churches to offer recovery care during and after natural disasters or catastrophic events in the loving name of Jesus Christ.
Our History
Tennessee Baptists first began helping with disaster relief when a train tanker car exploded in Waverly, TN in 1978. Our immediate response was to help financially; however, this ministry has grown to include on-the-ground assistance as necessary. To date, we have helped provide assistance for over 155 different disaster events and have assisted people throughout Tennessee, the United States, and the world. Sometimes our assistance is small with one or two people providing leadership, and at other times literally thousands of volunteers have been involved in serving those in need.
