For the People, Not Just the Pastor. The Church Health Assessment is designed for all members of a church to complete—not just the pastor. While the pastor’s perspective is valuable, it’s the collective input of the entire congregation that gives leadership a more accurate and comprehensive picture of the church’s spiritual health.

A healthy church can often articulate its strengths clearly, largely because it has been intentionally pursuing health over time. In contrast, an unhealthy church may not even recognize that something is wrong. For this reason, the survey may be most helpful for churches experiencing decline or signs of spiritual unhealth, serving as a diagnostic tool to identify areas in need of growth and renewal.
